Komamura Sajin first appeared as the silent Shinigami Captain with a mysterious helmet. He’s very imposing in his hugeness and very much intimidating. Upon his battle with Zaraki Kenpachi, his helmet was broken, revealing a fox head.

Big as he is, his swordsmanship is one of the greatest in Soul Society along with incredible physical strength. He is said to have the ability to communicate with animals and has superior senses that normal shinigami. His zanpakuto is called Tenken or Heavenly sword with a shikai ability to replicate Komamura’s move in a much larger scale.

He is always been conscious about his appearance and is deeply scarred on being looked down upon because of it. Komamura is fiercely loyal to Yamamoto Genryuusai Shigekuni out of deep gratitude in taking care of him and treating him as equal.
